How to Manage Substack Subscription Emails in Gmail

for emails you want to read later

In this quick video I walk you through the steps to move email subscriptions that you want to read later out of your inbox and into a safe place.

Here’s the step-by-step

  1. Open gmail

  2. Create a label

  3. Open an email for a subscription that you want to read when it comes.

  4. Copy the senders email address.

  5. Click the “more” dropdown from the top of your gmail screen.

  6. Select Filter messages like these. A window will pop-up.

  7. Paste the senders email address on the From line.

  8. Delete any other lines that may have automatically populated.

  9. Click Create Filter.

  10. Select the boxes: Skip the Inbox (Archive it), Apply the label, Also apply filter to matching conversations.

  11. Select the correct label from the dropdown by Apply the label checkbox.

  12. Click the Create Filter button.

That’s it. Next time you get an email for that subscription, it will automatically go to that label.

When you’re ready to spend some time consuming instead of creating, you can go to the label and read to your hearts content!
